Belgian Pro League

The Belgian First Division A, also known as the Belgian Pro League or 1A Pro League, is the top association football league competition in the country. It is played between the top teams in the country. It is made up of eighteen teams, each with their own unique style and approach to the game. The league is a combination of leagues and competitions. It also includes the amateur competition, which is known as the Eredivisie.

The Belgian First Division includes many famous teams, from Lille to Genk. There are many famous names in Belgian football, such as PSV and FC Basel, but none are more popular than KSC Lokeren. The national team plays in a 50,000-seat stadium called the King Baudouin Stadium. The second largest stadium in Belgium is the Standard Liege, which has a capacity of 30,000. Most football grounds in Belgium have a capacity of less than 10,000, but some can hold up to 50,000 supporters.

In May 2008, Belgacom TV sold the rights to broadcast games from the first division to VRT and RTBF. Both outlets also acquired the weekly magazine covering the competition. In addition to broadcasting games, Belgacom TV shows all games played in the competition. There have been 74 clubs in the Belgian first division since 1895, but 30 of them went into liquidation or merged with another club. The 2021-22 season will feature 18 teams.
